It was revealed that he is not just Part Hedgehog created by Dr.Gerald Robotnik BUT ALSO he was approached by a mysterious Alien and its entire race….this aliens name was Black Doom….pretty sure ya know him well when he first met Gerald on the Ark!?!?!? He made a deal to create the ultimate life form so in exchange?!??! Black Doom gave up some of his Blood/DNA to Gerald to mix in with the Chaos Energy & Hedgehog Species DNA thus creating the Shadow we all know and love So yes Shadow is Part Hedgehog Part Alien
